When I think about my business and how I want it perceived, I often think about the word familiar. Like an old friend. Like someone you’ve known forever. Like family. Because, frankly, those are my favorite relationships and those are the ones I want my business built on. Old friends. Practically family.
“Um, ok, Jennifer? Where are you going with this?”
At the end of a wedding day, I find great joy in being able to hug everyone’s neck and thank them for allowing me to be a part of the day. And on the nights when I walk away sad to have to say goodbye, I know I’ve done my job well. Each bride and groom I have a chance to photograph is like adding another extension of my family.
“Still lost, Jennifer.”
Amy will be the second Hunt sister I have the pleasure of standing with on their wedding day! It’s a family affair! I was so thrilled to be asked to photograph her older sister, Abbie’s, wedding in 2018, but it’s an even bigger compliment when their mom came to me shortly after Ben’s proposal to Amy to say, “You were her first choice! Please say you’re available!” Heart stopped. A million times YESSSS!
Last year, I was privileged to shoot two sisters’ weddings AND their cousin here in Shreveport, and y’all…. that family couldn’t get rid of me if they tried! Ha! I think the Hunt family has now become that way, too! Two engagements, two weddings, two bridals, one senior session, and one maternity session from three sisters in 2 years. THAT is my definition of a successful service – one that just feels like family.
So to kick off their wedding festivities, I met Ben and Amy at Spring Hill College in Mobile, AL, last week to capture their engagement portraits and man, it was a BLAST! These two are so giggly together and that just makes MY heart flutter! Haha!
Guys, giggle with your girl. It wins everybody over and you look mighty cute doing so! 😉
Ben and Amy will be married in July in Laurel, MS, on a date that is VERY special to them both – July 18th. Both Ben AND Amy’s parents were married on that exact day of the exact year, so it feels like fate that these two repeat one seems to be a very good day for marriage.
Until then… Enjoy a little sampling from their engagement portraits below and join me in raising a big round of applause, because SPRING IS SPRINGING!!
Beautiful, by the time I got to the last one I needed a roll of tissue😢
Beautiful
