Kelsey + Drew – A Classic Church Wedding – Shreveport, Louisiana

Happy Wedding Wednesday, my friends!

Today, I’d like to introduce you to the newly deemed Mr. and Mrs. Drew Rowell!

Drew and Kelsey were married on Saturday, May 25, at First Presbyterian Church of Shreveport in front of a host of friends and family. True to everything Kelsey touches, it was the epitome of classic elegance!

The day started off at Seasons Salon in downtown Shreveport for the girls as they gathered for brunch, mimosas, and gal pal time as they started hair and makeup. The guys met up at Drew’s mom’s house where they, as guys get to do on wedding day, hung out and shared great laughs.

The ceremony was a traditional event in the sanctuary of the beautiful First Presbyterian Church in the heart of Shreveport. Flanked by 20 of their closest friends, Kelsey and Drew promised to love, honor, and cherish one another as they committed to a lifetime together. The bridesmaids dressed in flowing blue Bella Bridesmaids dresses and the gentlemen in white dinner jackets made for a stunning and timeless event.

A classic white trolley, one of my favorite Shreveport traditions, transported the bridal party throughout the day and left them where the real party was to begin at the 601 Spring event space downtown.

First dances were had, VERY tasty cakes were cut, and Louisiana dishes were served! Shrimp and grits to die for, Louisiana meat pies, and even beignets were on the menu, and all remind me how lucky I am to be photographing weddings in this part of the world!

Just as Kelsey had mentioned in one of our first conversations, the band was one of her favorites, so she led the way to the dance floor where the party rocked on into the night. There were splits, dips, and grandparents twirling through the crowd! This crowd knew how to party!

Going out in style just as they came in, Kelsey and Drew said their goodbyes and hopped into a classic sedan to ride away into the night.

Classic. Elegant. Timeless. That is Kelsey. And that is the day she so expertly planned to commemorate the beginning of her lifetime commitment to Drew.
