potholes

  1. Emily McInnis says:

Jennifer. This is such a beautiful story. I had no idea when I saw you at my wedding. Isn’t it funny how God worked all of that out and He knew that you needed to be in that city at that time without us knowing a thing! I will be praying for you and the days ahead. The “C” word is a scary thing and a tough battle but not bigger than He is! I’m not the best at quoting scripture either but that verse you posted is perfect and one I will keep tucked away from now on. Love you friend. You are truly one of the strongest people I know and i admire that about you! Enjoy wedding number 5! 😉

  2. Vicky Johnson says:

Prayers for your family Jennifer , you had me in tears by the end of your message! Mrs Jacque is a very loved and Strong Lady! Our Thoughts and prayers are with all of you through out this fight with the C !!

  3. Jessica Crocker says:

Jennifer, this is beautifully written! You are SO right when you y’all about the journey each of you have trod! It’s been filled with many potholes! However, that journey make you stronger, and encourages faith that so many will never know! I will be praying for your precious mama!! She is a precious part of my journey too❤️!!

  4. Nikki says:

Jenn, I still remember the sweet sweet text you sent me after Jeff left us. Your text lifted me more than you will ever realize. You have such a way with words. Please know I am covering your sweet mama and you’re entire family during this pothole. You all will overcome that gosh awful C word whose name we shall not speak. Please know this next sentence I take seriously. If you guys need ANYTHING……and I mean anything at all please let me know. I live here so those drives are tough. I would love to bring food or visit or even provide bedrooms for an overnight stay if ever needed. Please know you are not alone. Ever. Praying daily.

  5. Linda Elmore says:

Jennifer, thank you for sharing with us so that we can pray for Jacque and all of you during this time. She has definitely dealt with heartbreak in her life and forged ahead. Please know that I can help with her trips for treatment!! Just let me know!

My heart is hurting for all of you. I love your mother and sadly I did not know. I know your mother is private but she is a fighter. I’ve never known someone so strong. Praying for her. Love y’all.

  7. Robin Sims says:

Oh Jen, I know the fear that the C word can bring. But I also know your God fearing, not stumbling at the potholes Mom. She is honestly one of the sweetest people I know. I just love Jacque and will be in prayer for you all. Jacque is a survivor I have no doubt.

  8. Gin says:

This brought tears to my eyes…of joy. Your mother did raise strong women, and it makes me happy to know that you two understand and know why she always pushed you and kicked your butts when you needed it. She WILL beat this because she is Jacque and because God has her in His hands.

  9. Patti Mayton says:

Thank you for this, Jennifer. I just got some news this week about my sister. I too had to walk away from my desk. Find a place to try & remember to breathe. Everything can change. Everything gets dark & scary & then later…. crystal clear. I am praying now for Jackie, Julie, Jeremy & you. Keep on putting it in words, or on a screen. You helped me tonight.

  10. Anna Brown Priestley says:

  12. Whitney Norris says:

Oh, Jen! I’m so thankful that you shared this. I know the pain and uncertainty of having a loved one diagnosed with the C word, although, I know every situation is different. Your Mom, you, and your family are all in my thoughts and prayers! This moment that you are in now, when we shared that Caitlyn had been diagnosed, is what sticks with me the most throughout her ordeal. It took our family from a place of darkness and hopelessness to a place of positivity and light and it showed us how much people actually care when Caitlyn was diagnosed. I read through each post, laughed at some, cried at most, but through it all, it showed me that we weren’t alone in this fight! And know that she isn’t alone either! If there is anything we can do to help, please let us know! You know we have family in both places! 🙂

  13. Barbara McMillan says:

Jennifer, thank you for sharing. I had a absolutely no idea.

  14. Heather Scott says:

This breaks my heart for y’all Jennifer. God works miracles everyday. When all else fails give it to God… this is something I say to myself everyday. It will be hard, it will be tough mentally and physically but you have a family that is strong and amazing and friends who will all be sending up big prayers for your mama and you all as well!

  15. Brian McIntosh says:

Jennifer, I had no idea. Someone told me about this page this morning. Know that I am here if there is anything I can do for y’all.
I read this once and it has stuck with me, but I am going to change one word in it. “Don’t tell God how big your pothole is, tell your pothole how big your God is!”

  16. Donna Phillips says:

Dear Jennifer, I loved your mother the first day I met her. She is everything you say she is and more. You know her well. You have her strength. Please know that I and my church family will be praying for her complete healing. Prayers also for your whole family. Much love to you all.

  17. Caitlyn Dannelly says:

Beautiful post Jennifer. I’m wrapped in this emotionally with you because I have been there and felt what you are feeling. It consumes your mind, all the questions and uncertainty. It’s scary. Once you get over the initial shock of it all you are ready to fight! Through it all I had the most peace that I can’t explain it to you. I was in the best place mentally that I have ever been in. God and loved ones will carry you through it. You will find out there is more good people in this world than you realize. That’s a beautiful thing! Keep that positive attitude because that’s exactly what she needs to see. I will be praying for her and I would love to know her chemo days. I will say special prayers for her on those days. Sending you love, hugs and prayers. Gods got her!
